Is IR is painting many of the BOXN rakes blue? Is it just a change in livery or a slightly different wagon class? They look like the older BOXN wagons. I spotted a blue BOXN coal train coming from CHTS the other day, with ED WDG3A twins in front and an ERS WDM 3A banker. The rake looked very nice with the blue ED WDG 3A twins. Nice pic by the way, no electric poles and many semaphores!

Doc, to me it looks more like PF-1 of mainline terminus because the FOB seen in the background exists even now between BCT and Mahalakshmi stations, so this photo was taken facing north. If that is the case, PF-1 of BCT local would be at the far left in this photo.

Sir, myself and Kaushik Dharwadkar, with due permission from port authority, had gone once last year to trace remains of this station, if any. Sadly, a container terminal has come up where the platform is seen here and the far end seen here now houses the Passenger Cruise Terminal (which is just a HUGE waiting area with some immigration counters, all rarely or never used).

Wow, nice information. I believe this pic was shot when GC was in progress. Refurbished station in the other foto looks grand!

Perhaps Kandivali would get a new code now :)
By the way, Kile (Its called locally as Kille - the place where I resided during my last 5 years in Mumbai) station is called as "Sagar Sangam" by CIDCO. Am glad that the railways is naming the place after its actual name and not the improvised one from CIDCO.

Interestingly, the Seawoods-Uran line is to have a station called KILE which happens to be the station code for Kandivali!

This was Gondal state railway started by king of Gondal
In Saurashtra, Bhavnagar was the first and Gondal the second state to build a railway network.
2. MG era began in December 1880 with inauguration of the line from Bhavnagar Terminus (BVC) to Wadhwan (WC).Sir James Fergusson, Governor of Bombay inaugurated the line in the presence of Sir Takhtasinhji the ruler of Bhavnagar. The first train was run from Bhavnagar to Limdi carrying the Governor's entourage and guests. It returned the same evening- well in time for a State Bouquet in the King's palace at Neelambaug.
3. Soon after the line from Bhavnagar to Wadhwan was complete, the Dhola to Dhoraji line was also completed. Bhavnagar and Gondal states contributed in 2:1 ratio for construction of the lines with contribution of Rs.86 lakhs by Bhavnagar State and Rs.29 lakhs by Gondal State
