jimmy , GC is still under progress & section will be opened in next 1 or 2 month . section is linked & departmental ballast trains are running
The photo refered as grand station is of Gondal stn whereas this station is Upleta

Wow, nice information. I believe this pic was shot when GC was in progress. Refurbished station in the other foto looks grand!

This was Gondal state railway started by king of Gondal
In Saurashtra, Bhavnagar was the first and Gondal the second state to build a railway network.
2. MG era began in December 1880 with inauguration of the line from Bhavnagar Terminus (BVC) to Wadhwan (WC).Sir James Fergusson, Governor of Bombay inaugurated the line in the presence of Sir Takhtasinhji the ruler of Bhavnagar. The first train was run from Bhavnagar to Limdi carrying the Governor's entourage and guests. It returned the same evening- well in time for a State Bouquet in the King's palace at Neelambaug.
3. Soon after the line from Bhavnagar to Wadhwan was complete, the Dhola to Dhoraji line was also completed. Bhavnagar and Gondal states contributed in 2:1 ratio for construction of the lines with contribution of Rs.86 lakhs by Bhavnagar State and Rs.29 lakhs by Gondal State
