Sandeep, very often catenary is laid out only upto to the point where the electric loco comes to pick up its rake - not beyond that. Bombay Central washing lines have a similar arrangement. Also, if you look at this photo closely, the overhangs from the tress prevent any catenary structures from being erected - unless of course they cut them down - which thankfully they havent done!

That is a real good find! I didn't notice that at all either. Maybe the locos were shunted from the front.

Yes Sriram. The red one is used o equalise the MRs of all the MUd locos. As you know all the MRs in a loco are connected in series. Hence a single pipe is enough to equalise the MRs of all the MUd locos. The other one is BRAKE CYLINDER EQUALISING PIPE.
