Sid, why did you underexpose the shot by 2/3eV?? In a DSLR, that is sone to preserve the high lights by using a mask in photoshop. In a compact camera, the noise increase loses the details, more than a blown sky.

I, too, am curious about the obstructing pillar. Has this been shifted or removed altogether? How many operational platforms does the station currently have?

Bangalore Railway Map

A few corrections if I may: The non-electrified double line shown between Lottegolahalli and Yesvantpur is not a double line. They are two separate bi-directional lines that serve separate sectors. Again, the Lottegolahalli - Banaswadi line has been in operation since 2004! And the code for Bypannahalli Goods Marshalling Yard is BYPM, it is not a Goods Terminal. The Satellite Goods Terminal (SGT) is located near Whitefield (WFD).

TrackBuckling

You see this kind of track buckling in Hokkaido in Japan and occasionally in the UK during hot summers. In India, this is kind of unusual!

There are parts of picture which are out of focus. The front of the loco and the part of foreground are in focus but the rest got a bit blurred. This could be a case of aperture size being larger than usual which causes the subject, in this case the front of train, to be in focus, and everything else out of focus. The depth of defocus depending upon the size of aperture.

PTRU_WDM-2_17582

Indeed a rare catch, but this PTRU is not first. They are present in the server from early 2005 e.g.
