That's right Rohit. And on this particular day we did the journey well within time and the WDM-2 was a treat to hear and watch as it cut through the countryside...absolute treat!

Is the focal length really 300 mm, or is the EXIF incorrect? A 300 mm lens on your DSLR would have been of formidable size and weight.

The moment has been captured well. Even a colour shot would be nice. If you want B/W perhaps you should go slow on the toneing after desaturation. Here detail goes into black.

@@ Vijay - infact it is the other way round. The distant train is standing on the loop, while the Kaveri will proceed through on the mainline. A fact reinforced by the green signal and the loop feather on the 'mickey' being off.

Nice composition! Although it appears that the train is on a collision course with the stationary one, there is the almost-out-of-sight loop line onto which this train will be switched on.
