Hi Akshay
If the purpose was to bring AC locos to LTT for the next day's services I buy your logic. But that could have been done attaching the new AC locos at the rear of the train. I suppose there were more centimental issues than this. If we go by your logic then other night/morning arrival must have faced similar changes. Are there any other example like this?

There is a simpler, operational possibility too. It would be much more complicated to remove the original loco, attach the additional dead loco to the rake and couple the original loco ahead of the newly attached loco again. Instead, simply attach the additional loco at the helm, make the original loco dead and haul the train with the new loco.
