Mulky sir, this clearly is for safety as in Kolkata Metro(Not sure of Delhi Metro) lot of people have committed/attempted suicide by jumping onto the rails. This glass partition would serve the same purpose I believe

After Bangalore BMRTC started dedicated section in their Buses for Airport route buses..THis is the second instance of luggage space in public transport. Thanks for Sharing
