High time that the IRFCA gave the EMD species a proper railfanning name - pigs (snout at the approximate place on the face), mewers [they mew!], scooters (2 stroke power)...
While contemplating the mewing angle, the species should not be called after cats as it refers to a Caterpillar diesel, which the EMD family is not. I suppose we could call it by the desi nomenclature for the animal that mews - Billi.

Despite the dirt, this control stand has an excellent finish - the TFT screen so efficiently unclutters the area.

Congratulations to Tamish for being the first railfan to get detailed views of these new series. I noticed that the first pics were of serial number 40014 while this is 40026.

Old Sangam Bridge

No Srini Sir, the railway line runs east - west across the river at this point. http://www.wikimapia.org/#lat=18.5287502&lon=73.8623446&z=18&l=0&m=s&v=9 I feel that this old stone bridge is to the north of the present railway bridge. And to take the shortest route to Apu's house, you need to go towards the southwest from the Juna Bazar Chowk which is seen to the southeast of the bridges and then cross the river some distance to the south.
