The SCR livery was my favorite. The narrow gauge lines to extreme right are of Barsi Light Railway. Any pictures of the F/G class beauties of BLR?

If my memory serves right Kolhapur had one of these beauties on shunting duties in early 80's before steam was withdrawn completely. It always appeared in perfect working conditions but relegated to shunting duty just because IR was phasing out steam.

IR and its infatuation with deiselization!!! What was the need to deiselize Neral-Matheran line?

How was the visibility of the track ahead from the cab? I know, these loco never ran with cab trailing fashion. Any idea why this unique design was phased out?

I saw this type of locomotive reversing to join the passenger rake at NER's LJN back in 1993 and perhaps it was the last time I saw this locomotive in running condition. Also, I remember a passenger train hauled by WDM-1 that used to take Lko-Malhaur route and usually left Lucknow in the evening, around 6:15 pm or so during the late 1980s.

one of the best liveries i've seen: yellow and green, and the loco matched it as well. it was replicated in the inaugural Udyan Express too. the 9 coach Karnataka Exp and the Brindavan (also in dark green/yellow stripes livery) passing through Cox Town were the highlights of my childhood summers spent in Bangalore!
