What a beautiful loco...but look at the state it is in...Sheer wastage of money(and power!!!)...I think IR should utilise these beasts atleast till the end of their service life.

The two "flatcars" are to prevent the loco from enter the tippler machine when pushing the last wagon into it.

Nevermind my comment about the similarities - the next photo explains it. The two locos are identical, but not symmetric. The side louver arrangement and the little glass windows match on the other side. One side has more windows than the other!

What is that flatcar between the engine and the ore rake?

The two locos look slightly different - the side louver arrangement and the little glass windows on the sides are different. There seem to be 4 windows on the first one and 4 small and 2 big side windows on the second. Also there is a single MU cable rules out MU with the CLW/BHEL locos.

The OHE section ends at Ore Yard which is about 2 kms from Tippler yard. The WDS-6s from VPT haul the iron ore wagons from Ore Yard to the Tippler yard.

The Locos are actually coming out of CSDR stn , & joining the sbc-mas main line. The exact location is CSDR by-pass. all North bound trains take this is branch line .
