Why on Earth did they take a photo of a London Underground Jubilee Line train, slap a DM logo on it and put that onthe front side of their travelcard???

The Scharfenberg coupler was developed some time just after World War II in Germany. The idea of it is that you can couple two units physically and electrically through one coupling (instead of a usual coupler and cables). Also, this can be done automatically and within seconds - one vehicle must simply slowly approach another until their couplers meet.

The wire rope will enable a person at the ground level to reset the brake valve that is in the emergency position. Normally, a person has to climb at the roof level and then turn the "flag" so that the brake line can stop venting air.

16885 was built in October,1998, not 1996. And it is not the last one. Two more WDM-2 locos rolled out after this one. The last one is 16887, now at NER/Gonda shed.

This train does not have a dedicated loco. On some days, it gets a WAP4 while on other days, it gets a WAM4. That is probably one reason why you don't have a matched livery loco.
