Yes they are used for the same purpose of OHE inspection and are classified ERU. The curvier model is the older version and the boxy one the newer version.

Forgot to mention - in one of the videos on Swaran's site (Grandtrunk Express), a CNB WAG7 also has the red markers on in the front.
