Are all the stations of the old NG route still used? This one, even though no more used, has the platform waiting bench. Hard to imagine that once this was a very importnant route of the Mysore State Railway

Thank you, Raghuram for sharing these pics. All the stations here share the same design? The original NG line was built by the Mysore State Railway. Thank god that IR has not demolished these relics during gauge conversions. Hope they never will. And wat a sight it would have been to see an NG ES class loco steam through these old stations...

Oh my god!! What a terrible sight. My heart really weeps at this tragic picture! I have seen this loco so many times when I used to stay in Madras, near Kodambakkam station. It used to cruise past with the many evening MG trains, which are extinct now. Scrap vendors must be having a great time selling the Japanese electricals. What is the condition of the other YAM's?
