Sid, that's not a WG. Seems like a BESA design to me but someone like Harsh would be able to confirm that. The buildings seen here were built in the 1920-30s and if I'm not mistaken, the loco on the left entered service a little after that. I think these locos were brought to the grounds as some sort of exhibit. Why would an EIR and GIP loco work on a construction site near Delhi? Posted by Bharat Vohra on 2007 Dec 13 16:41:59 +0000 |

Solid structure downwards of pic. is compressor (to which black air nozzle is connected) which may be of 1 to 2 HP, thing with 'IMP' written and wires running in it with yellow label tags are solenoid valves, structure with 'AQ 15' in middle of pic. is pressure sensor or pressure switch. I vaguely remember being told about a railway siding which was was built to haul the stones up the Raisina Hill from NDLS, to enable construction of the (now) Rashtrapati Bhawan, North/South blocks and Parliament House. This was the first picture I found supporting that. Posted by Rajeev Shrivastava on 2007 Dec 13 16:02:34 +0000 |
