Superb shot Karan. The loco road no., BL shed, WCAM2P etc is illuminating very clearly inspite of so much darkness at the station. One of the best night picture on the server.

Udyan (Large)

I just love this shot.. The blur behind the headlamps and the mighty hills behind..(SHF would have been icing on the cake although)

Lovely scene!! I was enjoyin the action on another hill(camera-less),along with a bunch of monkeys to keep me company even after the attack i went thru(courtesy monkeys) before this crossing..

Long back, 2704 used to get 20012 including on one of my frequent journeys by 2704. My favourite WDP.4.:-)

Dear Ajaida, Thanks for the info. So ERS had the MG for a brief period from 1958 to 1975. So CHTS too must have had MG during the same period.

Earlier it used to have the title "Pallava King", although it is not seen in this picture. This is given in Hughes (Vol 4). I had seen this name on the loco in 1967.

Reminds one of the ghost station of old Madgaon, but it seems to have been largely dismantled by 2008.

Minor corrections: the MG line from Ernakulam to Quilon was opened in c.1958, so the MG connection to the CHTS must have come at that time. The MG line from Shoranur to ERG was converted to BG in c.1929, so initially there was no MG at ERS to CHTS.
