Brings back the memory of past years!! Refreshing indeed. This was the seat I enjoyed the most and was rarely offered (safety issues!!). The other thing was to "push the stranded train" on the window from inside in the direction of motion.. The joy knew no bounds when the train started (incidentally) on two occasions!

Grain silos at Pehowa Road wagon loading facility

David, the loading is by 'Engine on Train' system. The railway engine brings in the rake and remains attached, carrying out the intricate shunting involved in placing each wagon below the loader, wagon by wagon. The engine then takes the rake away to the train station and the whole process takes around 4 hours. The company owned rakes are maintained at TKD (Tuglakabad), by Railways.

Grain silos at Pehowa Road wagon loading facility

Fascinating pictures. Many thanks. I trust that they will be moved to First class. Does the company have its own locomotive for moving the wagons under the loader?

Beautiful! Also observe what appears to be a fisherman (in blue) casting his net into the river.

@Milind : AFAIK it is only done by the folks at KYN ELS.
