This tunnel is to prevent mud sliding into the tracks from the hills during rains. Such tunnels are common in europe to prevent snow falling to roads and rails but seeing one in India for the first time

What a difference a rake makes to this picture. You can see the same station a few months back - desolate and lifeless in many a trekker's album. Now the gangmen are seen and this place will be bustling with passengers who get out on a break. A great feeling to see this line back with passenger action!

No distinction between the two classes, atleast for this one day. All non-railfans turned railfans on the run, chucking sleep and gathering near the doorways to catch the scenic section. Armed with anything ranging from puny VGA cameraphones to the massive Nikon 4D, they were everywhere throughout the length of the train.
