Can someone explain the logic behind the existence of this so-called tunnel? By the way, it's easily noticeable in this pic that almost half the population of the train was at the doorway and an equal number of camera & cameraphones popping out of every available nook and cranny! 2007-12-09, Bizzy.

This tunnel is to prevent mud sliding into the tracks from the hills during rains. Such tunnels are common in europe to prevent snow falling to roads and rails but seeing one in India for the first time
