Thanks all. Please note the following:
1) Entry to KYN ELS is through a neutral zone and locos entering have to change from AC zone to DC zone.
2) Eventhough the ELS is under DC traction, Seperate test lines exists for AC locos & DC Locos.
3) Only WCAM/WCAG can enter live inside the shed.
4) Pure DC Locos -WCG2 & Pure AC Locos WAG5/7/WAM4 have to be necessarily towed into the shed by either WCAM/WCAG or diesel locos.
5)WCAM/WCAG would be completely under AC territory outside ELS & while entering ELS gate they have to change from AC to DC, and will probably go into DC test / assembly lines.

hay the main question is how WCG-2's will enter the loco shed..........
they must be shunted by another loco to their old house...
& the sole serviving DC shed of IR in it's last days of life..
very sad!!!!

Question: Approach to Kalyanloco shed now is thru 25 KV AC teritory. So do all WCAM-X and WCAG-X guys going to shed from DC teritorry change from DC to AC and back to DC (shed itself is DC) ? Or they and other WAGs are hauled by seperate diesel shunters there ?

Thanks Jitendra Sir & Akshay for the revised layout explanation on Virar. The same has been updated & re-uploaded.
Moderators: Kindly delete the old layout.

Vijay, what Akshay is saying is right. The track layout at Virar has changed in the last year. The DC tracks end in a dead end. The 3rd & 4th AC lines continue as the mainline towards Vaitarna with loops for PF5 (no Neutral zone here). Also the MEMU lines end in a dead end to the north of the DC dead end (station building in between).

Great diagram.
Any idea by when the Pune - Karjat - Vangani section would be converted? There was an article in Dec 08 that the conversion work in this section is almost complete.
The SSPs and substations have already been installed in this section.

Akshay, I remeber, there were 2 DC lines ending at Virar for EMUs & 2 AC lines starting from Virar for MEMUs. But what about the main lines which continued beyond & had a neutral zone alongwith the newly constructed 3rd-4th lines? I have tried to refer to them only in my pix. As of today, I think, there are 4 lines which must be passing through Virar- 2 being the old ones & 2 being the new ones apart from loop lines if any.
