Seen this loco doing shunting duties at Mumbai CST (Bombay VT at that time) in my childhood, around 1994-95.

Yes, brilliant snap!
And the KK did have a beautiful livery back then...I remember seeing this livery as late as 1986-87. I'd been to SBC to receive my aunt, who returned from Dharamshala. It was an evening arrival. Then, the KK fell off a bridge over the 'Kabana nallah' somewhere in the Chambal ghats...after that, the livery changed to the Rajdhani-like red-cream-red one. Then, in the early 90s, the KK and many other SFEs across IR took on a cream-maroon livery. After that came the present one...

The name board reads "Bombay Mail". Wonder which one it is, Howrah/Bombay (ER/BNR) or Madras-Bombay Mail?

Our 20 DN Gorakhpur Howrah Express (now 3020 Kathgodam-Howrah Bagh Express) was powered by one of these beasts in 1987. In those times, there was an loco change(diesel-electric) at Asansol, where WAM2/1 took over. I have never seen these at ASN, so there must be another loco change (diesel-diesel)at Barauni.
