Apparently, there was some delay in obtaining parts for this one. I think that's a load of crap, given the slew of DP-4's that have come out. Shabby work on the DLW made DP-4's of late. This was doing duty in MU state for quite a while.

A CNB WAG7# 27985 quite resembling a WAP4 approaches Saphale station. (Arzan Kotval)

To voice my opinion,I am against this change guys.
The WAP Class of Locomotives should be a "class apart" Atleast in design.
So should the WAG class of frieght locomotives.
And the M.U cables certainly take away the charm of WAP class.
They best suit the WAM/WAG class of loco's.

To throw some light...
This WDP4 is not all that new as u'll think. When i visited KJM shed 2 months back, 20068 was standing with 20067(before commissioning),in one isolated corner(without shelter) of the shed.
When asked, they told me he had some manufacturing defect and was lying around for 6-8 months with work pending.

Deepak, you have misunderstood Anamitra's comment. He was trying to get the train name by saying that only mail from Howrah that runs with diesel loco is- 3005/3006 Howrah Amritsar Mail! So he wanted to know is it either of the two or not!

Had seen this fella on an earlier run with the 1014 at Pune. Even then it was LHF. The paint was peeling near the headlights, but it wasn't so bad. Also at that time, there was some problem with the coupler, because when the crew changed at Pune, they were discussing it, and a keyman was even called in to check it, and during the check, the dippy was made to move to-and-fro fractionally as is normal practice during a coupling operation. Also, for quite some time, the loco was standing notched at 1 or 2, and then the Pune Div crew brought in to an idle notch.

Was this snap taken by standing on PF.1 in Secunderabad Railway Station?

It's very simple. Cost-cutting. With ongoing monsoon, the colour has come out very early than expected.
