The chassis looks fine to me. As long as the frame on which the superstructure sits is not bent or twisted, the loco shed should be able to get the loco running after building a new rear cab. The loco can be easily lifted and placed on a flat bed wagon as its not below a bridge or culvert. Decommissioning of a loco is a very long process as the Railway Board should consider it 'beyond repair' before the shed can even decommission the loco. The KJM loco at Sribagilu station was yet to be decommissioned when I last inquired about its status in August 2009. Its been lying below a bridge on the Subramanya ghat section since 2007.
