The heroine's of the ghats head out for their scheduled duty at Castle Rock.
SWR takes good care of its diesel locomotives... They are fed very well in Castle Rock... Here is a pair rushing for its morning breakfast... 1200 litres of diesel!
Some manual filling is done prior to automatic filling. Is this some kind of additive to the fuel?
The fuel meter. The value is set by pressing the respective switches. The valve on the right controls the re-fuelling speed.
A khalasi puts his equipment on to the catwalk of the loco and hops on for a ride!
Welcome to the Ghats... its a free ride going down.. controlled safely by the Dynamic Braking and AEB takesover if speed is exceeded.
From this bridge, there was a caution of 20 kmph. The sleepers from this location were being replaced.
The damaged sleepers.. thanks to a set of wheels of the loco that derailed and damaged the sleepers.. I heard that about 3000 sleepers were being replaced.
Coming out from the tunnel onto the bridge... there were travellers in the catwalk of the locos to enjoy the beauty of Braganza ghats.
