One of the smallest and newest tunnels on the 3rd line, the 52 down, can be found at the Lonavala end of the Khandala station. Ashish and Kesari try to walk on one rail (to relieve their aching insteps perhaps), while John retraces his steps to check out a ‘joggle patti’ – a formed rail that serves as reinforcement, to a welded joint in this case. 2004-02-14. Great Pics Apu! Wish I were there. Looks like the cleareance is tight for the OHE wires. Wonder how they will manage when the 25,000 V OHE system is to be laid.
