This is a smoke tube boiler. Steam from it would be fed to either a vertical type 'donkey' pump or a horizontal duplex. Most likely a donkey as it has a small foot print.

This is a boiler. Smoke tube type , to be precise. The pump would be something else. Steam from this boiler would be fed to the pump. Most likely a vertical 'donkey pump' or a horizontal duplex.

This would be a steam tractor whose power takeoff point would be used to drive a pump via a belt.
