WDM/2 #16025 makes a long halt at Ganagapur Road in Karnataka. The 6010 Chennai Mumbai mail in her command is going to be usurped by the 1020 Bhubaneshwar-Mumbai Konark Express, that would reach Mumbai before this train. The freight train to the far right provides shelter for my camera. |

The close-up view of WDM/2 18216 from Gooty highlights sharp features of the short hood, characteristic of the Alco family. The cab has a rare metal plaque, highlighting the locomotive roster# and SCR parentage. The locomotive waits at Wadi, with the 6009 Mumbai Chennai Mail. |
|
This seems to resemble a total domination of Gooty locomotives on these pages! This one is unapologetically beautiful - WDM/2 18194 reflects the glory of a bright summer day as it waits with the 6009 Mumbai Chennai Mail at Wadi. |

The door to diesel mecca - the Gooty diesel loco shed. Two WDM/2 locomotives a WDG/2 power rest their motors at home. Gooty should rank as the closest loco shed to the associated station, unlike most other diesel bases. This shot is taken from the station overbridge! |
|
Two box car trains hide the awesome sight of Gooty loco shed for most travellers on the 6010 Chennai Mumbai mail. However, an ascent on the station overbridge and I spy two diesels - a hibernating WDG/2 and a conventional WDM/2. Beware of monkeys on this bridge! |

The first stop for most people awakening on their first morning aboard 6010 Chennai Mumbai mail is Tadpatri in Andhra Pradesh. This station serves the religious town on the banks of the Penner river. The locomotive at the helm is a GY WDM/2 that just needs to relinquish this train when its gets home - Gooty. |
