This is the south view of Gooty junction, with the POH shed for box wagons in view. Two Guntakal WDM/2s wait with south-bound freight on adjacent tracks. This pic is shot from the 6010 Chennai Mumbai Mail, that is pulling into the station for a loco change. |

The signal-man of Gooty junction hands the assignment roster to the driver, while his assistant steps out to get a glass of tea. WDM/2 #16025 has just been coupled to the 6010 Chennai Mumbai mail, and this offers me a chance to tour the station. |
WDM/2 #16025 from Gooty managed to pull the 6010 Chennai Mumbai Mail effortlessly, only to be detained at the south outer signal of Wadi junction. The platforms at the station are not free, and the train that would evacuate a platform first is the complementary 6009 Mumbai Chennai Mail. |
WDM/2 #17846 from Gooty is a jumbo variant, with a front cab cut out on the short hood nose. This locomotive is hauling a long Box-N freighter north out of Bangalore. The drivers really dont care much for the front-windows as it is too high to be of any use. |
A number of WDM/2 diesel locomotives travel light on the way from Bangalore City station to Krishnarajapuram loco shed. One such Gooty WDM/2 encounters the 2639 Brindavan Express before Bangalore East station. Bangalore City is characterised by sweeping curves on either side and numerous rail overbridges. |

A freight train hauled by a Gooty WDM/2 trundles past platform #2 of Guntakal station on a bright winter morning. The locomotive is contemporary South Central colors, in orange and blue livery. My train is the 6011 Mumbai Chennai Express on platform #1. In the event that the freight train came to a stop, it would be a mad scramble for me! |
