Is the distance between the side wall of the tunnel and the track is safe? What if a train comes? Can a person stand safely if a train is running on the adjacent track?

There would be refuge points inside the tunnels just like they are on bridges.

Avishek :- Yes there's a refuge there as said by Mr K.Gupta. Gangmen monitoring the railway activity stay over there for their duties.
