very informative again, i assume those gentlemen uncouple the wagons which are ready to be pushed. how do they inform the loco pilot that all is clear? waklie talkies?

Yes Sandeep, it is a collective effort of all staff coordinating with WTs. The staff at hump yard in turn will operate the panels for setting points and using the retarder at appropriate time.

Thanks a lot for sharing something different. Reminded me of similar operations at Itarsi's goods yard in 70s, with WGs doing the pushing, and WDM2s leading the freight trains. The yard is now a pale shadow of what is was then!
