There must have been similar rush at Punalur on the inauguration of this line, on 4 July 1904. The first train ran from Quilon to Punalur only

I traveled in the route which was my first trip and enjoyed its final run. The loco was 6401. I traveled on 19th afternoon.

Nice picture, and sad to see another lovely MG line go. But just look at all that trash - goes to show that high levels of literacy & education need not lead to greater civic sense!
