This is disgusting stuff. You get your railway included in World Heritage sites and then replace the steam loco with dull looking diesels. Not done.

Whatever the provocation, still does not qualify for the word "disgusting" to be used.

OK, if disgusting seems like a strong word, I still say it is unfair on the part of IR. Thousands of tourists will read about "World Heritage" DHR and its legendary steam locos (Wikipedia article shows all steam locos only) and when they arrive you give them these ugly diesels. If I was cheated this way, I'd never ever come there again, and would also tell everyone I know not to go there.

Karan, there is a service of DHR in Darjeeling-Batasia Loop-Ghoom-Darjeeling section which is regularly done by steam locos.

Karan has a point. When a steam locomotive is used in all publicity and everyone is given the perception that it is going to be steam for the whole and finally you don't get it, one feels cheated and that is indeed disgusting with a capital D. When you have got world heritage status, please honour it.
