This will become an extra burden for train plying in the ghat section!

Posted by Ranjeet Ramaswamy Iyer on 2008 Mar 16 04:16:04 +0000

Umm what does this have to do with the burden of the trains in the ghats? Care to explain? On the forum that is. AFAIK nothing is going to change anything for the train if an additional feature is added. If you look closely at a 3rd AC coach, the battery components are wider than these gadgets and they too hang like the same (in the length). But I don’t see those giving a burden for the train at any costs either in a ghat section or anywhere else! Can you please elaborate?

These two were GS's! But Samit, if the coaches can lug the weights of the other gadgets present in the under bogie of the coach, how much difference can this make?

Is it so Binai? Then what is the use of Green Toilets? Loss for railways!

Binai, I think that’s the system for the LHB rake toilets. Don’t think these will discharge the compound waste on the tracks but on the contrary get stored till an attendant disposes it upon arrival at a particular station or at the terminal station.
Ranjeet, why would it be a loss for the railways (referring to Ranjeet’s comment on Binai’s theory)? This way when the train is stationary, the platforms/stations will not get polluted/dirty. It’s not the common mass but the gang men, railway staff or railfans who walk on the tracks!

Okay Sid, I understood.
