Thanks everyone. Anant, a shot like this was shot during a full moon night by our very own Sachin. His photo can be seen here .

night

Jay - It was not at all cloudy - clear sky with starts shining!

Jatin - The light I am guessing is getting reflected off Manas resort or Igatpuri outer since that's were the sodium vapor lights were gleaming.

Dinesh - It is because of the f1.8 I actually got a shot like this. When I tried to take a shot with f3.5, the whole image was in an undertone underexposed mode. The 4 and a half minutes shutter release was another major contributing factor.

Actually Dinesh, I commend CG for getting even a shot like this. He has a very basic point and shoot (Canon Powershot SX 100 IS) and it is very difficult to get proper streaks due to the limitations of the camera. I do not think there is a bulb mode in his camera so he did the best he could. I was pretty sure he was getting dejected but he never gave up. I salute him for that.
Also with point and shoots, it's a major disadvantage to use manual focus since it's completely electronic and difficult to focus on a particular point as the screen goes into a 'burst' mode. Now I can safely say proper shots in the night (streaks and long exposures) can be taken in full swing only with an SLR or a DSLR.

Wow, Awesome snap. Was it cloudy? If yes, then the light might be from the nearby town reflected from the clouds. Especially considering the color temperature of the light seems to match the sodium vapor lamps.

Another killer shot! There is another surprising element here, see the white streaks formed by starlight due to earth's rotation and long exposure time. I just wondered if this place can be covered during a full moon night!

I guess, light on bridge is coming from a nearby Petrol Pump.
