I could not help but notice & appreciate the lack of trash/overall cleanliness around the tracks. Most train stations otherwise are littered with garbage and filth which makes them an eyesore. Great work Madurai Station staff!!

I have read elsewhere on IRFCA that the purpose of these sidings is to 'catch' or slowdown trains in case of brake failures. Does anybody know if there was ever an occasion to use the siding for this purpose?

Nice to see that its finally AB now; I travelled by Himsagar from NDLS - JTJ in December last year and it was a really old VB rake then.

There are similar ones operating in Argentina (ALL broad gauge network from Buenos Aires to Mendoza).

The Gen car livery is out of sync with the rest even though it is a part of the whole scheme; not unlike the infamous Raj-Shat livery clash .

I did not notice these wheels during my visit to see the prototype. I thought that the basic guidance is by the standard undercarriage being used on the rails. What is the exact purpose of these wheels?
