Karthik, the loco is running under AC not DC wires. The Virar-Vasai-Panvel section has been converted to 25KV AC quite a while ago!!

Looks like the loco is running on AC panto in spite of being within the DC zone. How is this possible? Can someone clarify?

The loco seems to be hauling a freight train, not a passenger train. Its passing through the main line, not entering the platform, which a passenger train would have probably done.

This very loco was subsequently transferred to Mhow shed and I have had the good fortune of riding on it in Jan'96 hauling a republic day special between Mhow and Ratlam! It was condemmed a few months later..

This loco is almost the dedicated power for 2015/2016 Ajmer Shatabdi. Ever since April' 2004, I have spotted this train at least 5 times behind this loco.
