Great picture reminding of days gone by! I love the way people are standing on that cold morning; they seem to be just awestruck by the train and loco! its speed, its color, and its charm. I wish they had a camera too!! Posted by Saqib Karori on 2006 Feb 17 23:40:00 +0000 |

This is a classic! This could be the Ganga Kaveri Exp. rake - it used have the green-yellow livery in the early 80s. Which other trains from Madras Central had this livery? Posted by Mani Vijay on 2006 Feb 17 22:23:42 +0000 |

1Wonderful, wonderful!! My fav train!! This pic was prob taken less than a year after 121Dn/122Up was introduced when it was still in its 13-16 coach avataar - all in this fantastic livery. The loco is most prob from TKD and it used to run all the way from Madras to Delhi, till MAS-BZA was electrified around 1980, from which time I used to be a rgular on this magnificent specimen of an IR Superfast. Old is gold. The loco most probably belongs to TKD or may be ET also. Posted by Samar on 2006 Feb 17 15:32:56 +0000 |
