Is it a KM post? Gradients are mostly rounded off to the nearest 50, although exceptions exist.

here is the Google Earth link to the place http://tinyurl.com/yoty4p , although the markings don't show tracks from Sahibabad to NDLS and from NDLS to DLI...but can easily be traced..

Yup this is a brilliant place. But you need to be prepared for some walking because if you go from the Sahibabad or the Chandre Nagar side, there is a fare bit of walking involved and plus you need to take a number of water bottles for drinking and some to even freshen up in the summer as the sunlight will hit you from all directions and it can burn up your skin. Light snack is also essential.

Nowadays, Anantapuri is with electric power till Villupuram (both directions). I've seen it WAP-1, WAM-4, WAP-4. After VM it gets GOC WDMx.

Till recently this train had a ERS or GOC WDM2 as its link. Has it changed now to WAM4 now ? or is it a one off arrangement ?
