Once they start using it, the shed will bear the same look as the state in which this Loco is now.

This is what http://www.irfca.org/faq/faq-signal3.html says: A double-red colour-light signal, permanently lit, is sometimes used to indicate the shunting limit on a particular line..(where it is)...especially important that no trains accidentally pass it -- e.g., at busy suburban stations with many automatic and semi-automatic signals which can normally be passed after halting for a specified time, hence a single red signal cannot be used. Normally the double-red signal also carries a board that says 'STOP'.

WR widening Akash Bang

A high level platform is 760-840 mm high from the rail top. While carrying out track renewals or platform surfacing (or making new platforms), this height often needs rechecking. Maybe that's what is happening here.

Plasser_sleeper

This is a Plasser's Quick Relaying System (PQRS) depot and the machine is a portal crane. Interesting to note that departmental crane is working the depot. On NR, mostly contractors work the depots while the actual relaying at site is done by departmental cranes. The contractors have their own portals for the depot work.

The same chain drive can be seen at http://tinyurl.com/n8cpv

I have seen these Rail-Motor cars when I visited Matheran as kid. We could not afford to travel in it, then.

Today, I can afford it but... they are gone forever!

gipr-cab

Lack of ratchet type master controller, absence of seat, etc. lead me to believe it's just an outer shell for decorative purpose. So WDM1 has good company.

Same at Nehru Science Center.

I doubt if they have any WCP2 or WCG1 is restorable condition.

To see a restored, working steam loco from Neral Matheran Railway, I have to visit British Isles.

Sad, very sad, indeed!
