Weekend at Dudhsagar

Did you notice the newer station of Dudhsagar Waterfalls? This was constructed as a viewing platform. It was there in 2004.

On the contrary, I find the mist quite exhilarting. The sharp view of the train against the foggy backdrop makes for interesting viewing. Superb Snap.

Only grouse: the HT wires in the top part of the frame. Maybe some cropping can do greater wonders.

I always see a dead ED WAP4 at KTD. Wonder why?
Is 23219 a transfer from BIA?

This shot epitomises the phrase 'Point and Shoot' in the true sense. After a successful railfanning session at SNF, myself and Mamu approached Bharatnagar to take our locals back home and also capture the outbound Hussain Sagar exp, when suddenly we heard this sharp blast of an Alco. Expecting to see a freigher roll by, we turned around to see this sight. Mamu had enough time to siphon through the bag, take the cam out of the cover, sitch it on and shoot. And the next moment the Raj was gone.. screaming past us at nothing less than 90kmph ! You can see how amazed the onlookers at the station were seeing the Raj ripping past.

For emergencies such as fractures detected in track, a spare joggle fish plate and clamps are tied to the track at, say, every km. These are colored for easy identification of the JFP as a spare and not protecting a defective weld.
