Awesome shot. The hill in the background and the catenary jungle adds to the picture, not to mention the fumes from the exhaust of the Alco. Great stuff.

The loco appears to me that it underwent a shell replacement in later part of its life. Also the rivetting is well visible near the markers which used to be not part of 3xx generation of WAP4s, at least the later half.

The North East Trip - Samit Roychoudary

My name is Davis Shryer. I was with the United States Army in Ledo , Assam in 1945-46. It was fascinating to find these photos of the area on your website.

None of todays maps of India or Assam even acknowledge that the town of Ledo still exists. In fact very few Americans, today, realize that there were several hundred thousand of us in Assam at that time. Nor do they understand why we were there.

As a friend of mine, recently deceased, once said. "So it goes".

Amazing picture. The colorful WCAG1 and the colorful containers and the hidden KYN diesel gives the picture superb effect. The catenary jungle this time does not negate the quality of picture.

Also I think the toilets are located in the main coach area, as the area post the door toward end of coach doesnt seem able to house a rail toilet. There seems to be some place between the door and the window, does anyone have an idea on this?

Superb Photo. Really like the angle of the BCNA rakes coming towards the Kulem siding.
