The newer WDM3D's look like regular WDM3A locomotives. The first lot of WDM3D's feature something like a magnification lens as the headlamp cover. Looks "ogle" eyed

Lovely snap! The 3Ds have always come with a twin-beam arrangement, never single.

Yes, Vivek. I smoke one at a time. It seems this loco has a wagonload full of cigs to get the smoke. Unfair competition, I'd say :-)

There are two passengers from SBC to UBL. The night passenger has 6 or 7 SL coaches, and runs fully packed, with no foothold for passengers in UR! Usually the day train is also jampacked, with more short distance passengers.

majestic...seems like the regular twin beams have become a standard fitment for all the newer 3D roll outs...

as vivek mentioned the line on the right skips ASK junction and directly connects to hassan, shaving off quite some distance and is proposed to be the new mangalore line from YPR/SBC,though some trains will run via ASK-hassan-sakleshpur-shravanbelagolla.

The old track looks in much better condition than the new ones! Great picture. Gives a sepia look!
