food at Itarsi is always great. and always hot. In fact whenever I used to travel by the Narmada Express, I used to make it a point to get up in the middle of the night to tuck into the garma garam puri-aloo sabji which is always getting readied there. also for those who like eggs, Itarsi also offers great omelettes.

Not exactly. Walajah Road was earlier called Arcot. This is the abandoned line from Walajah Road to Ranipet which vanished from the timetables in the 1970s.
