Everyone knows that the loco belongs to Indian Railways. It is the road number that is important (to IR staff and to us) so it makes sense to paint it big and large on the side and not in 10 point size on the loco front and under the cab which are hard to spot when the loco whizzes by at 110 !!

Beautiful picture! It is interesting to see that the antique coaches (partially visible!) were used as late as 1983.

From Gwalior to Sheopur Kalan I think. It runs parallel to the Chambal River.

Taking a cue from Lalu's idea of plastering the windows with ads ;-)

Btw, where does the NG line from Gwalior go? Is it a fully functional line?

I had pointed out the change in livery of this loco a fortnight back alongwith evidence in the form of photos of this same loco before and after the change. Both the photos can be found at:

It never fails... if something looks good, they change it within a few years. (Think- Erode's liveries, the original WDM3D design, EMD livery for the WDG4, etc)
This obviously looks retarded. "INDIAN RAILWAYS" looked great on the side panels.

And Karan bro, good place to stay man!
