Thanks a lot for the appreciation, guys. I invite all you guys to this place, it is only 15 km from Cochin and easily accesible. Note the road bridge on NH-47 behind the railway bridge. Come here, enjoy the marvelous scenery, chinese fishing nets, railfanning opportunity, and finally enjoy the great seafood and local kerala village delicacies. Though I DO NOT encourage rooftop travelling, I would like to clarify that the railfans travelled on rooftop only between Kalakund and Patalpani where the top speed of the train is only 20kmph and it is not as risky as it seems at first sight. Yes, it was first.. I hope it is not last! I would love to see atleast some MG lines still functioning a few years down the line!
