looks like GZB is an "Equal Opportunities Shed" and all locos irresepctive of class and livery get equal share of muck. would have been nice had one of those white [:-)] loco been there as well.

Note the ancient but typical architecture, including the covered platforms as well as rails.

7789 was amongst a batch of 8 prototype locomotives built by Vulcan Foundry in 1955. Four went to Northern railway and were based at Firozpur and the other four went to Southern railway and were based at Shoranur. Thanks for appreciating!

Beauty...I think the loco maintenance standards used to be lot better back in olden days. I still have vivid memories of immaculate WPs with boxpok wheels & WGs at Kolhapur when steam was only used between Kolhapur & Miraj. My favorites WG (10097?)with Giesel Injector and 8076WG on Mahalaxmi express.

Me and Shantanu spotted this loco with this BCNA load at the siding lines between Mulund and Bhandup the same morning. Now i guess it must be heading north of BSR.

How did you reach there, Old Man? The Ganaka Motel side of this area is easily accessible but the opposite side seemed difficult to reach when I spent a day there railfanning.

Yes Jay, this has been shot from across the valley. the white building seen (nearly in the centre of the frame) is the Motel from where many of us have taken shots

I wish I was born during the 1950s with a camera to capture these beasts in action.

This is quite a panorama! Looks like you shot this panorama from across the valley from the resort where many photos where shot by Sachin and others.
