This is facing north, and the BG lines are sandwiched between the double MG line to Mahesana on the left and the single MG line to Vijapur on the left. Both the island PF have BG on one side and MG on the other.

Correction. BG and MG now run parallel all the way from ADI to Mehasana. The earlier dual MG line from Sabarmati to Khodiyar has been converted to one BG and one MG. All north bound trains out of ADI use this line. The original BG line via Chandlodia still exists. This is electrified till IFFCo, Kalol. The Shanti express, which is back to an electric link uses this line.

This is a composite name - two towns Gerita and Kolvada are both pacified.

In the earlier picture where Ian was shown taking notes inside the Railbus, I thought that the man behind him in khaki clothes resembled a conductor in a BEST bus. I was right in assuming him to be a staffer.

Nimish, BG and MG run parallel only from ADI - Sabarmati and from Khodiyar to Mahesana. From Sabarmati, the BG line follows the Viramgam line upto Chandlodiya and then takes a sharp turn northwards to Khodiyar Jn.
