Well, I was there when the siding near platform 1 was constructed sometime between 2000 - 2002. Earlier the bankers used to be stationed on the lines between platform 1 and 2, and used to move only when the train towards Pune pulled in platform 1. This extension tracks were laid to minimize the time the train had to spend at Karjat. I will always remembers the hum of these locos as they a part of my daily life from 1999 to 2003.

This photograph is just so emotional. The 100's of times when I have been at Karjat Platform and a WCAM-3 hauling Deccan Queen entangles around the WCG-2 bankers to enter the platform with its lights on in full glory. Its Just that , I wont see it anymore..........................

Abhishek, you are right. IRFCA FAQ mentions first DC locomotives were delivered in 1928, making it 82 years of service. My mistake.
