Nice picture of one of my favorite trains! But I sorely miss the WDM4-hauled Doon. Once we were waiting to board the Doon at BSB and it made a parallel entry into the station along with the Punjab Mail (ASR-HWH), both with WDM4s - something that is permanently etched in my mind.

A good train for Varanasi. Hope it doesn't get extended to Bihar!

Are you sure this is PF7 and not PF5? PF5 used to be PF3 before they ripped out some tracks between PF1 and PF2 to build a new island platform. At that time, the through lines were between PF4 and PF3. PF1 and PF2 were the original MG platforms for NER trains. Aside from that, it's truly exciting to see AC catenary at Varanasi.

Feels good to see some 2xxx trains there :-) Interesting that 2166 is being referred to by its defunct name!

So, how were the facilities at BSB? Am curious to know.

If I not mistaken, the catenary is getting terminated just after the right track makes a curve.

Ah, the joys of sitting at the door! This is double-line territory, right?

Is this still a single line section?
