SSB WDM-2# 16416 speeds past Chinchpokli station of Central Railway with 22 coach long Maharaja Express. (Arzan Kotval)

This elite train needs something better than a veteran SSB!

The baldie is probably the power of the Birur- Shimoga passenger which departs once the UBL- SBC JS arrives at Birur and the WDP-4 must be heading towards Harihar or Arsikere.

By looking at the design, I believe this is a preassembled 'dead end' installed at the end of the turnouts/loops.

These seats are actually seats of ACC coaches replanted on non AC coach. The original FC chair car seats were much broader, had extra padding and could be turned in any direction you want. ERS-TVC Vanchinad Express had two of those with brown colred seats on one and blue on the other. We always used to travel facing direction of the train, or we used to rotate the seats and face each other. Venad Express and Parasuram Express had these chair cars till about 10 years back. There used to be luggage areas on both ends of the coach. During peak hours, even the luggage holds used to be filled with people. Why did IR discontinue these chair cars? Used to be very comfortable
