If I am correct, these turnouts are used very rarely. In case of any need, or in case of any emergent situation, we can always go back to diesel locos !

Mumbai - DC to AC Conversion, February 5, 2012

Well everyone is gung-ho about WAPx entering Mumbai. But sadly we have to bid adieu over a short period of time to the most complex electric loco ever made..the WCAM-1 :-(

Always wanted to see this comparison! IR's longest BG electric loco, WCAM-1 and shortest one WAP-5 in single frame.. :)

Thanks for the photograph, Akshay.

I've seen boards stating "Unwired Turnouts". But does this one imply that the OHE over points 103, 104 is not charged, and probably serves as a "unusable" Neutral Section due to the restricted speed over them resulting in a probable stalling??

True, the old need not always give in to the new. Both can co-exist together, as the WCAM-1s still have some life left in them.

The TSR at dadar was imposed much before the conversion.

No Trayambak, its the same for AC loco. No changes. Coincidently, the other day after conversion, some people said there was a TSR of 20 for UP fast line at Dadar-WR, but then I noticed that the TSR is for the Track Renewal work that was done for that line. Else no new TSR/PSR for the lines anywhere.
